Papertrey Blog hop

Thankfully Papertrey posted the inspiration picture for the blog hop 10 days ago, so I could "prepare" for it.... I am actually leaving today for my 2 week vacation in Germany - visiting my parents and friends and I won't have time to blog and probably no time to comment.... So here is my card: Its hard to photograph gold, so here is a different angle: And a close-up: Materials: Papertrey Dot Spot, Papertrey Hello Die, Martha Stewart punch I hope you like it! I actually sent this card to a blog friend of mine in Germany, who is spending the summer in a Rehab clinic with her severly disabled son and her other two boys. She has a great blog ( Kreativsuechtig - but it is in German)  - if you have time, pay her a visit! I will be back in about 3 weeks after I have caught up with everything back home... Have a great time and see you soon! And before I leave I wanted to thank all of you for visiting my blog and leaving

Less is More #125 and a second card for Maddy

Its Jen Nelson's Birthday over at Less is More . And she tells us she likes fish, cats and butterflies! Since I just made some fish cards its now turn for a cat card. After all I just got this sassy cat stamp from Technique Tuesday - I had to use it! The sentiment is taken from the same Technique Tuesday set and from Paper Smooches. The yellow and grey stripes I made with the Papertrey Watercolor Wonder set.  Well Jen, Happy Birthday to you and I hope you like my card! I am also linkin this card with the  CAS on Sunday  - One layer wonder challenge. --X-- You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this card drive is going on to help her lift her spirits. I made this card in the flickr Hero Arts scramble last weekend and promised to send all my cards to Maddy. M

Tuesday Trigger combined with CAS(E) this Sketch #33

This is my second post today..... I'll soon be going on vacation for 2 weeks and I have to get my card obsession satisfied, before I go...... The Trigger is expiring in a few hours.... I have been thinking about it now for quite a while, since I wanted to use my new Papertrey Square Prints set.....                                                  The inspiration finally hit me, when I came up with the idea to combine it with Case this Sketch layout. The sentiment is Papertrey Modern Basics and I added three brads. I off-set the sentiment to balance out the card. I really like it! And the best is - its a masculine card - something I normally suck at, badly.....

Paper Smooches

Good morning everyone! I wanted to show you the card I made - again a last minute project - for the Paper Smooches challeng e. I finally own some stamps from them, so I can play a little.... Although I did go with the free digi in this case.... I had this idea in my mind with hexagons and I did not manage to make a card for the last hexagon challenge in blog land....So here it is..... I used a TCW stencil for the hexagons. The sentiment is Paper Smooches - Sentiment sampler and the stripes I made with the Papertrey Super Stripes set. The digi bee is cut out and propped up with foam dots.

Merry Monday #67

Another Christmas card to add to my growing collection..... Merry Monday  has this pretty sketch: I had to urn it around to make it fit my favorite Memory Box die  (Modern Landscape). I silver embossed vellum with Hero Arts Tiny Flakes. The ornament is Hero Arts Decorate your Holidays and the sentiment is Paper Smooches. I like the silver embossing - looks really elegant. I hope you like it, too!

Two FISH cards and a FUN evening!

I had some ideas for the FISH theme at this weeks CASology challenge - and that's what I ended up creating: I used my Sea Mates set from TAWS for the first card. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. The waves I cut with Lifestyle Crafts die out of vellum. The waves are held together by a Washi tape and bakers twine. The eyes I made with glossy accents and on the whale sprout I put some glossy accents - does not really show in the picture..... --X-- Here is a new challenge to link up with:  Go visit Stempelgaudi  and link up your favorite project from last month. Although this can be hard, to pick a favorite card ....For me it is.... I love them all......(almost all) --X-- My second card I modeled after the childrens book SWIMMY by Leo Leonni - it was one of our favorites when my kids were little..... The red fish are from Paper Source, the black fish I made myself out of left over scrap from a rubber stamp sheet. The

52 CCT combined with KIS

Time for a Christmas card.....in June.....this year I will NOT be stressed out about Christmas.......!!! So I combined 52 CCT  - Christmas ornaments with KIS  - negative die-cutting and The Paper Players  - CAS with bling   into one card: I used a Prickley Pear die, the paper underneath is from My Minds Eye. The sentiment is Hero Arts - Decorate your Holidays. And then of course I used some tiny bling - it shows better in the close-up. The card is popped up with foam dots, to give it some dimension - and to emphasize the negative space....

RIC #38

Its Runway inspired time again..........   Such an elegant outfit! I love that skirt! Looks so soft and silky and the texture is cool! I tried to capture all of this in my card:  I used a Sizzix embossing folder. The lilac paper I stamped wiht Versamark and clear embossed it, using the Hero Arts background lace stamp.  Teh sentiment is from Papertrey and the roses are a die from Memeory Box. I stuck little pearls inside. I had to photograph the card from different angles, so that you can see the shimmer......

The Playdate Cafe #186 and Make It Monday #121

Uh, oh - I just checked The Play Date Cafe when Linky expires - and that was in 3 hors and 39 minutes!!!! Well if you think about it  that is plenty of time, given that at the Hero Arts flickr group scramble the time limit is 90 minutes and that includes uploading your pics.... I already thought about the vellum flower thing that Betsy Veldman so expertly demonstrated on the weekly Make it Monday post from Papertrey. Originally I had something different in mind and I already had started it, but id did not work with those colors....And I don't really have a good Papertrey flower, that would work for this technique....So I pulled out one of my favorite flowers from Hero Arts, colored the vellum after heat embossing it and cut it out. I used the Papertrey Harlequin embossing folder to make the background. I first cut it, but I did not like how it shined/shone? through the vellum. So I just embossed the paper with the Harlequin embossing folder. I glittered

TAWS RE-Be Inspired Challenge #30... - 3 days

I really struggled with this inspiration picture - no offense, but it somehow looks quite unappealing to me.... But since it s a challenge I wanted to be challenged - ha, ha...and I wanted to use my new stamp set Sea Mates - actually that was the main reason I played in the TAWS challenge ..... I tried to make the frame look like an aquarium - I raised it with foam dots. I colored the fish with Copics, after I heat embossed them. The background is watercolor paper with distress inks.

Dynamic Duos combined with CAS Colours and Sketches

I am getting the hang of combining challenges....not sure if that's good or bad... In the past I would just put all my "creative energy" into one challenge and then just link up with others, if the card just happened to fit...but now I do that on purpose. Well, I'll see how it goes....                           Anyhow here is the card that came out of this: I did not want to add a sentiment - I 'll add it later, when I know who will get it. And here is a close -up: Challenges: Dynamic Duos CAS Colours and Sketches Addicted to Stamps and More Amusing Challenges Materials: Papertrey Background Basics: Super Stripes, Memory Box Chloe Stem die. --X-- Card for Maddy: You may know already about  Maddy ,  who  was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and went through chemotherapy treatment followed by a stem cell transplant from her (then) fifteen year old sister Melanie.  She now has a relapse and this car

CASology #48

A friend of mine asked me to make an anniversary card for her parents anniversary. I actually made three cards, but this one was mine (and her's) favorite: And since the theme is yellow over at CASology I thought I like up this card there...... I am also linking this to Addicted to Cards and More  and to Creative Friday  - to DIE for. Materials: Memory Box small pinwheel die, Sizzix Embossing Folder, sentiment: Papertrey Think Big Favorites.

10 minute craft dash combined with CAS(E) this sketch

Again I combined two challenges - the 10 minute craft dash and CAS(E) this sketch : Here are the a"requirements":                 And here is my card: I used a punch for the circle, the bird is from Memory Box - perched Reed Bird,. I embossed the blue paper with the Papertrey Woodgrain embossing plate. The sentiment is an ancient Heidi Grace stamp. Little enamel dots for the eyes..... Thankfully we don't have to add up the time it takes to think about what we do, to get all the supplies and to clean up afterwards.... just making the card took 9 minutes and 13 seconds. I wish you all a beautiful and relaxing weekend. Not sure how much relaxing I'll get to do... we have our local library sale, which I love to go to, the Hero Arts scramble is on flickr today and my in-laws are coming over  tomorrow - that means cooking and cleaning.....

ric#37 - Fashion East

I have not played with the RIC in a while - well, that has changed now. I liked the inspiration picture: And here is my interpretation of it: I used the Hero Arts set "You  & me". I added some enamel dots to add some red accents, just like in the inspiration photo. The grey background card I embossed with the linen embossing plate from Papertrey to give it some texture and to incorporate the background wall from the inspiration photo. Here is a close-up photo: Uh - its late again.....off to bed............

OLW - again.....

The first card for the OLW challenge was so quick - I had to make a second one.... This time the bug is from Stampin' up. I gave it some color with a Copic marker. The hearts are filled with Liquid Pearls and the eyes are black enamel dots.  --X-- Oh, and I wanted to share some great news with you - my son got honorable mention at ATCAS  with his fathers day card. He is only 12 years old and I really want him to do some creative things - not just play computer games..... It would be great if you visit his blog and leave some LOVE for him there :) Thank you and have a great day!

OLW and Make it Monday#120

No way I could combine those challenges - so I just made two cards. One layer Wednesday has bugs as a theme and at Make it Monday it is Overlapping Ombre. Since both cards are just very simple one layer cards it went pretty quick... For the bug card I used a stamp set from Stamp Camp. I clear embossed the bee and then used a stencil (TCW) for the honey combs. --X-- For this card I used the Papertrey set Butterfly from the signature series and I colored the stamp with my trusty old Kaleidocolor stamp pad. Since the butterflies looked somewhat naked, I drew them antennae. I hope you like it! Thanks for all your uplifting comments. It has gotten awfully late.... I gotta go to bed.....Have to work tomorrow.....
