Make it Monday and Something Unexpected

Hi Everyone, just a quick post today - its late and I don't have much time....just wanted to share two cards with you - my first is for this weeks Make it Monday where the fabulous Laura Bassen tells us the secret of double partial die cutting. You gotta watch that video! Here is the card I made for it: All supplies are by Papertrey and I added some sequins. Here is  a different view - I mounted it with foam tape onto card stock.  My second card is for  A Blog named Hero  - something unexpected it the theme. If you know me even a little bit, you know that is just the right thing for me..... I used a leaf stamp from the set Lotus Leaves to make the bird, the green "branch" is from the same set and I added those tiny little black adornments with stamps from the Heartfelt Messages set. Both sets are by Hero Arts Added some splatters and smeared green ink for extra interest.   I am also linking up with Simon Says Wednesday chall

Stamp Connection #1

Connected through our love for card making, blogging and being from Germany we (Tanja from   Little Art Cottage   and I) decided to create a monthly project within predefined requirements. We are going to show you the result every 3rd Sunday of the month and this is our first transatlantic get-together! Our requirements for our first meet-up were: Easter bunny/bunnies and stencil. And here is my card: I used an iStencil for this - I love that one - you can see other cards with it HERE  . Sponged in grey and pink. My favorite Impression Obsession bunnies and a Michaels sentiment. The pink bunny is mounted on foam tape. Guest Designing at Retro Rubber #10

Hi Everyone, I got invited to join in the fun for the next two weeks at Retro Rubber ! This is a fun challenge - you have to use your older stamps! What a great excuse to pull them out again and have them smell some ink! This week's challenge is real easy - its heat embossing! I pulled out this Hero Arts triangle background stamp, inked it up with Versamark and sprinkled WOW gold embossing powder in the center. For the outer part I used white embossing powder. That WOW embossing powder is amazing. Its very detailed and has a wonderful gold tone. I sloshed watercolor around ti and let it dry. Heat embossed that fun STAMPLorations HAPPY stamp from the  set  SENTIMENT BUILDERS: Happy  on vellum and attached it. The 50 is by Papertrey and the sequins are MFT.  I also wrapped some thin gold thread around the vellum. The numbers are mounted with foam  tape, as is the large sequin. I made that card for an "old" friend of mine - its going to Germany!

iStencil Cards

Hi everyone, this is going to be a LONG post..... before I forget - you have to go and visit my amazing, creative friend Rahmat from Card and Cooking Corner  - "why?" You may ask, but you'll have to find out for yourself :))) - please leave her some love and tell her I sent you! As soon as I saw that inspiration picture from  Showcase Your Style I knew I had to play - just how to do this picture justice???? It took me quite a while to figure it out - I wanted the colors, the shine and the bubbles. I was playing around with one of those iStencil stencils making a card you'll get to see soon, when it hit me that it would work perfectly for the challenge - so here it is: It took a while to make this. I first sponged the background. Then I taped the stencil down and sponged in a darker shade again.  I then applied clear embossing paste and let it dry over night. (Did some touch up sponging again). I had to reposition the stencil and repeated, since i
